Uri Dotan
Dotan displays short video works on small television screens. Many of the figures appearing on the monitors and on the screen are abstract. These include "Concrete and Imagined Landscapes of New York," as described in the exhibition leaflet. They are pergaments of minor movement that repeat (Ex: fingers painted blue that cover a face, a double image of a dripping faucet etc…). On some of the monitors there are close-ups of unidentified, dreamlike, three-dimensional figures. There is something hypnotic about them that leaves you wanting more by the end of it.
