Manifesto Terricola by Solimán López
Manifesto Terricola is an artistic and conceptual project led by Solimán López that explores the intersection of art, science, technology, and ecological awareness. Through a series of works and installations, the project invites us to rethink the relationship between humans and the planet, emphasizing the need for a transition towards a more sustainable and harmonious way of life in balance with nature. The project began with a performative action in which inserted a 3D-printed human-sized ear made of a collagen solution into a glacier in Svalbard. Inside the ear are 16 DNA molecules encoding the text of the Manifesto Terricola.
The project seeks to generate a global dialogue about the impact of human activity on Earth and the importance of preserving biodiversity and ecosystems. Utilizing advanced technology and scientific concepts, the project's works combine visual and symbolic elements to create immersive and thought-provoking experiences that connect audiences with the fragility and beauty of the natural world.
Adapting Manifesto Terricola to showcase on the ZAZcorner billboard in Times Square during COP16 is a unique opportunity to convey its urgent ecological message to a global audience, inspiring reflection and dialogue on sustainability in an iconic space.
