From Anne Frank - The Graphic Diary
May - August 2018
An exhibition unique to the Writers’ Festival, featuring a selection of pages from the book Anne Frank: The Graphic Diary, an unusual project by Ari Folman and David Polonsky
How do you create a new life for a girl who has become a national myth from the journal she wrote? How do you draw the Holocaust and in what colors? Director and artist Ari Folman and illustrator David Polonsky will speak with author Deakla Keydar about their book Anne Frank: The Graphic Diary, a brave and creative graphic novel project that has become a best seller and has been translated into dozens of languages. The meeting will be accompanied by the screening of excerpts from the film Where is Anne Frank, on which Folman is currently working. The film follows Kitty, Anne’s imaginary friend, who is searching for her friend, who has stopped writing and has disappeared.
