ZAZ10TS and Braw Haus present the mesmerizing digital exhibition Movers & Shapers by Dirk Koy, showcased on the ZAZ Corner Billboard in Times Square, NYC. The billboard, located on the southeast corner of 41st Street and 7th Avenue, features art interspersed with commercials every few minutes.

Dirk Koy invites you on an enchanting journey through his animation Shape series. In this innovative series, Koy breathes life into photographic portrayals of everyday objects, transforming them into unexpected and whimsical formations. By playfully examining the digital manipulation of these objects, he skillfully navigates the dynamic relationship between the real world and its digital manifestations. Ever seen a cat that looks like a bird or a dog shaped like a horse? Dirk Koy brings these playful visions to life, creating a captivating dialogue between tangible objects and their digital counterparts.

The exhibition also features Koy's intriguing videos Attraction, Fixed, and Spin, which highlight his extensive use of digital technologies and boundless imagination. Through playful experimentation, Koy explores the limitless possibilities of digital art, offering a sneak peek into his creative genius.

About Dirk Koy

Dirk Koy is an artist and filmmaker. In his studio, "Dirk Koy Bild und Bewegung," founded in 2016, he creates art projects in the fields of animation and experimental film while working on commissioned projects in collaboration with electronic music pioneers Yello, Nick Knight’s Showstudio, Balenciaga, Mercedes-Benz, and Fila.

Placing an emphasis on the role of experimentation, Koy has has likened his working process to a moving painting. He has exhibited his works at the Art Center Nabi in Seoul, HEK (House of Electronic Arts) Basel, the Supernova festival in Denver, and the FILE Festival in São Paulo. In 2019, Dirk Koy received the Basel Media Art Prize for his work "ground," and in 2022, his work "Intersect" won the Animation Off-Limits Award at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.
