Gotham Dance Theater
Gotham Dance Theater (GDT), founded and directed by Marc Nuñez in 2015, is a contemporary and street jazz dance company. GDT’s social purpose is to amplify and represent the diverse cultures of Queens through dance. Themes covered are through Marc’s perspectives as a Filipinx-American, gay immigrant, as well as his dancers’ perspectives, including barriers for immigrants, complexities of growing up as a child of immigrants in a eurocentric heteronormative society, and the celebration of BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities.

Marc Nuñez presents Dance is for Everyone
Marc Nuñez (he/him) is a queer Filipinx-American Director, Choreographer, and Dancer, based in Queens. Born in Switzerland and raised in California, Marc has choreographed for the 2024 Paris Olympics and 2019 New York Fashion Week, and has performed with artists like Rihanna and Todrick Hall. He is the founder of Gotham Dance Theater and has extensive teaching experience at prominent institutions such as Mark Morris Dance Group and Broadway Dance Center. Marc holds a BFA in Dance Performance from the University of California, Irvine, and is a member of Actors' Equity, represented by CESD Talent Agency. Miriam Parker
Miriam Parker is an interdisciplinary video and performance artist who integrates movement, paint, and sculptural installations into her practice. Influenced by her background as a dancer, Buddhist phenomenology, and free jazz, she creates durational films and site-specific performances that explore individuality and freedom beyond oppressive traditions. Parker's work examines the intersections of dance, visual art, and architecture, using space as a choreographic element. Raised in the East Village, she draws from its vibrant art community to craft immersive environments that continuously reimagine static spaces, questioning ethical behaviors and exploring new possibilities of movement and freedom.

Stefanie Nelson Dancegroup
Stefanie Nelson Dancegroup (SND) is an NYC-based contemporary performance ensemble, founded in 2000 and led by women, focused on creating original, multidisciplinary works that foster joy, healing, and empowerment. SND has performed at renowned venues like Lincoln Center, Baryshnikov Arts Center, and Jacob's Pillow, as well as internationally in Canada, Mexico, and Italy. In 2011, SND established Dance Italia, a global community of dancers in Lucca, Italy, and in 2021 launched Motore 592, a space for movement-based arts. SND offers over 150 free annual classes for intellectually and developmentally disabled adults in collaboration with AHRC NYC. Innovative contemporary collaborations include designers like Terrence Zhou (Bad Binch TONGTONG) and Andres Aquino, as well as the NYC store opening of Flying Tiger. Recent supporters include the NYC Dept of Cultural Affairs, National Endowment for the Arts, and Comune di Lucca.

Queensboro Dance Festival
Queensboro Dance Festival (QDF) was established in 2014 to provide easier access for artists to connect with the dance community within Queens and to cultivate audiences in underserved neighborhoods. Each summer, QDF tours throughout Queens’ local parks, plazas, and streets, reaching 10,000 people annually. The festival proudly presents professional Queens-based dance companies representing diverse cultures and styles, offering over 30 free outdoor performances, classes, and dance parties to the public. Additionally, QDF provides its dance companies with free professional development and Queens arts resources. QDF serves as a platform for Queens' diverse dancers to unite contemporary and cultural styles, sharing their artistry with the community. The organization believes in the power of cultural exchange to build community and uplift the soul, guided by its values of equity, curiosity, quality, and connection.
