“IN BETWEEN”

ZAZ10TS is proud to announce its partnership with Isabel Croxatto Galería from Chile to present the digital exhibition Everytime I Think of You by the artist Andrea Wolf on ZAZ Corner Billboard. Everytime I Think of You is an evocative series of videos that explores memories as both narratives and artifacts, performances and objects.

Remembering involves the creation of memory objects such as films, photographs, and recordings, which are not static repositories but dynamic triggers of perception. These objects activate memory through a continuous process of rewriting and reinterpretation in the present. These memory objects become cultural products, yet their meanings evolve with each viewing.

Everytime I Think of You emerges from an archive of anonymous stories that the artist built up over years of collecting Super 8 and 8mm films, family albums, and postcards. It explores these materials as an open-ended, interconnected web of experiences, shedding light on how our memories, though deeply personal, might also function as collective, interchangeable, and continuously reimagined elements of the human experience.

Through careful composition, the artist creates the illusion that she is painting with moving images. This layering technique creates a multidimensional experience, where the act of painting becomes intertwined with the emotions and memories contained within the found footage. The juxtaposition of the artist's present-day creative process with past moments captured on film highlights the notion that memory is an action that is constantly actualized in the present while recognizing a system in which the function of the past is not that of truth but of desire.

About Andrea Wolf

Andrea Wolf is a Chilean interdisciplinary artist based in New York City. Her work explores the relationship between personal memory and cultural practices of remembering. Working with found footage –with anonymous stories–, Wolf creates multimedia installations, video sculptures, and transmedia narratives that examine how technology, media, and memory affect and transform each other, creating models of remembrance that are culturally shaped. Using techniques such as projection mapping, algorithmic manipulations, and augmented reality, Wolf combines found memory objects like home movies, vintage photos, and postcards, with physical objects ranging from intimate dioramas to immersive installations, blurring the boundaries between physical and digital.

Andrea holds MFAs in Documentary Filmmaking from Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, in Digital Arts from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, and in the Interactive Telecommunications from NYU. She was a fellow at the AIM Program at the Bronx Museum in 2013, an artist-in-residence at the IFP New York Media Center in 2015, and a member of NEW INC, the New Museum’s incubator program for art, technology, and design in New York City, from 2015 to 2017. Her work has been shown in galleries, museums, biennials, and festivals around the globe. It has also been featured in digital collections and online platforms like Spotify, ArtJaws, and Electric Objects.

Times Square is a space where countless anonymous stories converge, reflecting Bergson’s idea that perception is filled with memories. As events fade into the past, they lose their concreteness, becoming outlines that photography and film can preserve, making the absent present. Home movies, with their grainy footage and flickering images, evoke a shared sense of recognition—not just through their content but through their aesthetic of remembrance. Even when they belong to others, they can trigger personal recollections, revealing the interchangeable nature of memory.’’ — Andrea Wolf
